South Korean idol Rowoon appeared to the public after the news of his departure from SF9 was revealed.
The man, whose full name is Kim Seok Woo, wrote a heartfelt letter on social media addressed to his fans.
“Hello, this is Rowoon. I think I thought a lot about what words I should use to get started. It also honestly feels a bit scary to write for the first time in a long time,” Rowoon said in his letter.
“I think I’ve become more used to being more strict with myself when doing scheduled activities and taking on new challenges. There’s also the frustration of not being able to resolve misunderstandings big or small one by one, and while thinking that one day my sincerity will be delivered, days go by as I focus on the work I need to do right away.”
Rowoon then apologized to fans for his decision, which caused a stir and shocked many people.
The 27-year-old sincerely apologized to fans who felt hurt over this difficult decision.
“Of course, I understand that I may receive hate as much as I receive interest and support, but I think I’m a little soft. Depending on the incident, you have to have the courage to face and deny misunderstandings that arise, but the last few days I have always been busy hiding,” Rowoon said.
“I sincerely apologize if any fans have been hurt and upset over my complacent attitude. If you feel unfamiliar with my changes, you must also feel annoyed that I am hiding. I sincerely apologize,” he continued.
He will also not forget the struggle from the beginning to the many memories he has gone through with SF9 over the past seven years.
However, Rowoon wants to take on a new challenge in his late 20s alone, without his group.
“I participated in the scheduled activities with a grateful heart for every precious memory over the past seven years. I was just filled with gratitude as I wrote [this letter] while recalling my life. This is also thanks to everyone,” Rowoon wrote.
“This year, I am 27 years old, and I want to take on a new challenge. I really don’t know at all how to say this or where and how I should start speaking, but I want to take the courage to convey that I want to take on a new challenge.”
Previously, FNC Entertainment announced that Rowoon had officially left his group SF9 today, Monday (18/9).
