Sope (S/UGA and j-h/ope) is the friendship pairing between SUGA and j-hope.
Sope bts (S/UGA and j-h/ope) is a friendship name used by fans of BTS to refer to the close friendship between two BTS members: Suga (Min Yoongi) and J-Hope (Jung Hoseok). Friendship names are often created by fans to represent a strong bond or relationship between two individuals, whether it’s a romantic pairing or a close friendship.
Suga and J-Hope are known for their playful interactions, their support for each other, and their dynamic within the group. Fans enjoy observing their moments together and often use the ship name “Sope” to express their appreciation for their friendship. It’s important to note that Friendship names are a form of fan culture and do not necessarily reflect the actual relationships between the individuals involved.
We know that Yoongi and Hoseok were among the first to be selected to join Bangtan Sonyeondan, along with Namjoon. Interestingly, they had all met many years before their group’s debut, on Christmas Eve.
This anecdote was shared by the BTS idols in an old interview with a Japanese magazine. They recounted how the ‘SOPE’ connection between Suga and J-Hope was strengthened, leading them to become inseparable since then. It all began with a slightly awkward moment involving underwear, a chicken, and a memory that will surely bring a smile to every ARMY’s face.
J-Hope revealed the awkward first meeting with Suga. The story of their initial encounter unfolded as August D (Suga’s pseudonym) began, ‘It was four years ago (in 2010) when we first met in the bedroom. I had joined the company earlier, and then J-Hope arrived on December 24th…’ Hobi continued, ‘The first time I walked into the bedroom, Suga was there, wearing just boxers. It was quite a memorable introduction for an aspiring trainee. I was sleeping in the living room, but then Suga told me, ‘Go sleep in the bedroom’… I remember responding, ‘Okay, this place is comfortable.”’
Hobi found Yoongi’s consideration quite delightful, commenting, ‘He may seem reserved, but he’s actually a caring person with a warm heart.’ The ‘Chicken Noodle Soup’ singer added, ‘But the positive vibes from ‘Min PD‘ didn’t end there. At the end of that year, when the other trainees went home to celebrate the new year, I was the only one left in the dormitory,’ shared BTS’s Hoseok.
The most heartwarming part of the story was yet to come: ‘So, Suga called to check if I was doing okay. I responded, telling him I was feeling bored being alone. After a while, Suga came to the bedroom holding a chicken… I was incredibly excited… If I were a girl, I would have definitely fallen for him.’
